I love January, the chilly weather and the excitement of the new year, that feeling that you can start fresh and leave behind the things that make you unhappy. That feeling doesn’t last long though… I’ve been thinking a lot about how quickly I forget all of my new year’s resolutions and get caught in my old habits. I guess it’s a common mistake to set goals that are too vague, too difficult to achieve without a proper plan.
Nothing wrong with being ambitious but why do we always set ourselves for failure?
This year I decided to ditch the mile-long list and set a few measurable goals. I’ve accepted that I will never fit again in that dress I bought 12 years ago, this is not the year I will learn another language or kiss goodbye my unhealthy habit of falling asleep while holding my phone. I’ll eventually do when the time is right, but not for now.
Thiss year I want to be 100% focused on the few things that truly matter to me. So aside from setting up a proper plan, I decided to give a try to these beautiful ‘goals moodboards’ that I’ve seen everywhere! I figured that this could be a very helpful way to visualize these goals and get some extra motivation! (and trust me I could use that!)
I started by picking the word that will define my 2018 which is
I turned 30 a few days ago and I feel like this is the right year for growing. Not only in terms of ‘aging’ but as in taking things one step forward, without fear or compromises. I know it’s going to be a real challenge but I’m SO ready for that!
BLOG LIKE YOU MEAN IT
No one can imagine how much I love this little corner in the web!
First off, you might have noticed that we’ve got a restyling here! I’ve been spending the past few weeks updating the web design in order to make this blog cleaner and easier to navigate. Hope you like it!
I love how this space has been such a positive, creative outlet for me and I’d love to see it grow into something a bit more consistent.
This year I’ll try to take things a bit further and hopefully turn this hobby into a full-time job. So from now on I’m committing to posting at least once-twice a week and generally be much more present on my social media. I have loads of ideas and projects coming up and I can’t wait to share them with you!
FROM THE SOFA TO THE GYM
I know, this is a bit cliche but my body is begging me to!
Last year I’ve been focusing on taking really good care of my mental health. I would be lying if I didn’t say it was a tough one but I’m pleased with the results and the progress. This year, I want to throw in some extra challenge: eat healthy & WORK OUT CONSISTENTLY. I’m pretty good at keeping a healthy and balanced diet but working out is reeeeeally not my thing.
Does anyone else feel me?
So I’m teaming up with a few girlfriends and I’m sure we’ll manage to make it a bi-weekly habit! 💪🏻
SHARING THE KNOWLEDGE
This idea first came to my mind when many of my friends started asking me for decorating tips. I wanted to create sort of a short guide to help them solve some of the most frequent issues, and then it hit me that I could create my own home decor eCourse.
Then I let that idea die. 🙁
Mostly because I never got the nerve to get started, to get past my fear of putting myself out here. I guess now the time is right so stay tuned!
Btw, make sure to subscribe ’cause in a couple of weeks I will be launching my first free email course: 5 days to Minimal Home.
A HOME IN THE MEDITERRANEAN
This has been a dream of mine for the longest time, and I’m not-so-secretly hoping that this might be the year it finally comes true. Me and Alberto have been scouting properties like crazy in the past couple of years, and now we finally agreed that Corfu is the right place. Corfu is the Greek island where we got married and have some of the most wonderful memories with the people we love.
It is going to be more of an investment/vacation home as we don’t really like the idea of settling somewhere. What we do want is a place to escape, to gather with our friends and most importantly a place to create even more of those beautiful memories!
WHAT ARE YOUR DREAMS AND GOALS FOR THIS YEAR?
