When I think of winter getaway, I think of Austria, a cup of mulled wine infused with star anise and orange, thick cardigan sweaters with horn buttons and a place that looks just like the Wiesergut Hotel.

Wiesergut Hotel is a small and distinctive retreat that provides 25 suites with immediate access to the ski slopes and the hiking trails in the village of Saalbach-Hinterglemm. The hotel is situated next to one of the largest skiing area in Austria.

The rooms with sober yet high-quality furnishings provide a quiet atmosphere. The materials, wood, stone, leather and linen, convey traditional values, being, however, in contrast with glass, steel and exposed concrete elements.

We love things that are not subject to short-lived fashion trends, objects that epitomize lasting values: plain, down-to-earth, without frills, perhaps even purist.

In the restaurant, dishes are prepared with fresh organic products from their own family run farm. There are cozy dining rooms, the “Piazza” lounge for a hot or cold drink throughout the day, a hotel bar for relaxing moments, an inner courtyard with herb and vegetable garden as well as a private spa with fine spa treatments and a stainless steel pool for a refreshing bath.
