EASY WAYS TO MAKE YOUR HOME
LOOK EXPENSIVE
You know that feeling when you enter someone’s house and everything looks so perfectly styled, each piece seems placed on purpose, and it all feels so upscale and expensive?
I do! But more often than not my budget doesn’t allow me to go for all the fancy things I want! So I came up with alternatives to fake it!
It really doesn’t matter if your home is mostly furnished with Ikea pieces. There are so many little tweaks that can help you achieve that sophisticated look, no matter the size of your home or your budget.
01. OVERSIZED AND FRAMED
Framing an oversized photo or artwork is such an easy and quick way to transform your home. If you’re indecisive, go for a timeless black and white print.

03. TEXTURED TEXTILES
I love layering pillows, I use them all over my apartment! If you want to achieve that upscale look, always opt for nice textured pillows. Velvet and raw cotton are the best! Prints are also a great alternative but make sure that the fabric doesn’t look cheap.

04. SWAP THE SOAP BAR
Fancy toiletries immediately give your bathroom that expensive look. If you don’t want to spend a fortune, you can use coordinated soap holders. I personally love unmarked brown glass holders.

05. UPGRADE YOUR BEDDING
High-quality linens and beddings not only look awesome but they also improve your sleep quality. Shop for natural, breathable materials; you won’t regret it!

06. LAY IT ON A TRAY
Interior design is often like photography; you have to create great compositions. Things look so much classier and styled when laid on a flat surface, that’s why trays are fantastic decor pieces! Coffee table books work just as well.
